Privacy Notice

This notice explains how common ground. currently handles your information.

Updated October 21, 2026.

What you share publicly

Your experience title, story, category, topics, account username or anonymous label, photos, and selected location can be visible to anyone. Comments, reactions counted on a post, and progress updates contribute to the public conversation. Exact locations can reveal sensitive places; review the location preview before posting.

Anonymous hides your username and badge stickers from that contribution. Participation milestones are calculated from your contributions; your account lets you choose a featured sticker or hide stickers. Older contributions keep their previous displayed identity unless you explicitly change it. Anonymous changes the name other visitors see. Contributions remain linked privately to your signed-in account. Avoid posting other people’s private information or photos you do not have permission to share.

Account and service information

Supabase handles email-link sign-in and stores account profiles and unique usernames. Badge preferences, contribution identity choices, posts, comments, reactions, updates, and moderation records are stored in Supabase. The website uses your account identifier to manage ownership and permissions; your sign-in email is not displayed on posts. Sign-in services process your email to deliver authentication messages.

The website stores community contributions in Supabase’s database and uploaded photos in a private Supabase Storage bucket. Cloudflare serves the website. A historical Cloudflare copy is retained as a migration backup; new contributions are saved only to Supabase. The hosting and authentication providers may process technical information, such as IP addresses and request details, to operate and protect their services.

Maps, searches, and your browser

Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap. Address searches you submit are sent to Photon, operated by komoot, to find places. These providers receive the network information needed to respond. Fonts load from Google Fonts.

Your browser stores sign-in session information so you can stay signed in. Fictional demo records are stored separately in Supabase and use the same interface as the live community. Demo actions do not change real community records. Clearing browser data does not remove contributions saved to the shared community.

Moderation and retention

Moderators can review flags and hide or restore posts. Flag details and moderation records are used to review content and are not part of the public conversation. Shared content is retained while available on the service unless deleted or removed through moderation. Operational records or provider backups may have separate retention schedules; this notice does not promise immediate removal from all backups.

Your choices and deletion requests

You can edit or delete your own posts while signed in. Deleting a post also removes its associated conversation and attached photos from the live service.

For an account deletion request, email hello.commongroundproject@gmail.com from your sign-in address. We will verify ownership and coordinate removal of the account and associated contributions. This is a manual request process; sending an email does not automatically delete your account.

Contact and updates

Send privacy questions to hello.commongroundproject@gmail.com. We will update this notice when the website’s practices change.
